Description
The American Trauma Society Presented a Injury Prevention Webinar on August 19, 2021 at 1:00pm - 2:00pm ET - "Tragedy to Advocacy: One Family's Call to Action"
Tragedy to Advocacy: One Family's Call to Action
In January 2018, Connecticut teenager Ethan Song accidentally shot and killed himself with an unsecured firearm in a friend’s home. In honor of Ethan, his mother, Kristin Song, turned her grief to action and began a statewide effort to prevent this from happening to other families. Against a rigorous political backdrop, Kristin’s dedication and tireless efforts saw overwhelming bipartisan approval of a 2019 bill that mandates stricter rules regarding gun storage. Hear Ethan’s story, learn about Kristin’s journey, and explore how all members of the trauma community can impact laws that save lives and improve outcomes.
Presenter: Kristin Miller Song Esq.
