On July 18, 2019 The American Trauma Society hosted an Injury Prevention Webinar, Safe Stations: A Frontline Approach to Addressing the Opioid Crisis. Learn how one community’s approach to combating the opioid crisis has reached across town and state lines. The Manchester NH Fire Department opened its doors to those struggling with addiction and created a new pathway into treatment. Safe Stations, a community-based approach to providing support and treatment to those impacted by the opioid crisis has gained nationwide attention including adoption outside of New Hampshire.This webinar will explore how the program was developed, review the impacts within the two NH cities, and discuss the outcomes since the program's inception and how the model has been adopted by other communities. The program will be presented by Chris Stawasz, Paramedic and AMR Regional Director and Chris Hickey, Paramedic, EMS Officer, Manchester, NH Fire Department.
