Description
On October 19, 2018, The American Trauma Society hosted a Special Educational Webinar, The Joint Trauma System Combat Casualty Care Conference: a model for inclusion, shared awareness, and validation. The Joint Trauma System Combat Casualty Care conference has been held weekly since 2005 and has expanded in scope to be open to all members of our trauma system team to include our trauma registrars. This provides near real time feedback on trauma care outcomes and highlights the critical work our registrars perform in assessing and improving our outcomes. It serves as a model for inclusion, shared awareness, and validation of the contributions of all members of our trauma system team to improvement of trauma and combat casualty care outcomes. It was presented by: Colonel Jeffrey A. Bailey, MD, FACS. Colonel Bailey serves as the Interim Director for the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Joint Trauma System and as Special Assistant to the Assistant Director, DHA Combat Support Agency. Colonel Bailey is a Professor in the Uniformed Services University Walter Reed Department of Surgery. He is board certified in General Surgery with a special certification in Surgical Critical Care. Colonel Bailey serves as the Chief of the Military Region of the American College of Surgeons Regional Committees on Trauma and is a member of the National Committee on Trauma.
