On August 15, 2018, the American Trauma Society hosted an Educational Webinar, Shifting the Trauma Registry Paradigm Into the 21st Century: The Data Management Model and Health Informatics Overview. The webinar covers the data management model and an overview of what health informatics is, how the trauma registry (trauma informatics) fits into the Health Informatics and data management model, the importance and impact of bottom up and top down data governance and stewardship within the institution as well as with the trauma service/system, and the components of a data quality program as part of the overall Data Management program. Sandra Strack Arabian MBA, NREMT, CSTR, CAISS: Is the Trauma Program Manager at Tufts Medical Center, a level I ACS verified Trauma Center in Boston, MA. She is also a senior adjunct faculty member at Cambridge College, Boston, MA where she teaches Epidemiology and Health Informatics. Sandy has over 25 years of proven, successful, leadership skills in enterprise management with a strong focus on data management and analysis. She has authored and co-authored several research articles published in the Journal of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery, The Journal of Trauma Nursing, The American Surgeon and Trauma System News. Sandy has also presented her work at the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma Annual Scientific Conference, The Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, The New England Trauma Consortium and has presented nationally for the American Health Information Association (AHIMA) and in many other venues.
