Description
On April 6th, 2016, The American Trauma Society’s – Trauma Registry and Data Council (TRDC) hosted a Trauma Registrar Educational Webinar on "Investigating Trauma Registry Mapping Issues with NTDB/TQIP Submissions.” With more and more focus being placed on the quality of trauma registry data being submitted to the National Trauma Data Bank (NTDB) and Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP). It is vital for trauma registrars to understand how data submissions impact trauma center's institutional risk-adjusted benchmarking reports used for national comparisons through the TQIP program. Trauma registrars should have a strong understanding of key data points such as complications and co-morbid conditions when uploading data submission. This webinar covered the "drill down" process used by the Mayo Clinic Trauma Center and the following: recognizing the importance of investigations and monitoring trauma registry data mapping, identifying ways to validate data; in particular complications and co-morbid conditions, and recognizing the impact of data submission on institutional risk-adjusted benchmarking reports. This webinar qualifies for 1 Hour of CSTR Recertification CEUs (Category III - Coding and Scoring Concepts). To qualify for credit, you must complete the survey below.
