Tracy McDonald, MSN, RN, CCRN-K, TCRN, NEA-BC, is the VP of Trauma, Burn and Reconstructive Surgery with HCA Healthcare. Tracy has been with HCA for 5 years and in the healthcare industry for over 30 years. Before joining HCA, Tracy previously worked as a Trauma and Burn Program Director for over 15 years at two different Level I American College of Surgeon’s (ACS) verified trauma centers, and an American Burn Association (ABA) verified adult/pediatric burn center. She has an extensive national and international leadership profile including Society of Trauma Nurses (STN) Trauma Outcomes and Performance Improvement (TOPICS) course instructor, American Trauma Society (ATS) Trauma Program Manager Course instructor, and is a trauma center nurse surveyor for the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and several states. She has also served as a contributing author for the new ACS Resources for Optimal Care of the Injured Patient, the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) 8th Edition and has 13 publications around trauma and burn care. She received her Bachelor of Nursing from Missouri Western State University and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri, Kansas City.
