How to Develop an Internal Education Program for Registry Professionals
New guidelines recommend registry professionals obtain at least 24 hours of trauma-related education in the 3-year review cycle. The development of an internal registry education program can help award registry professionals one credit hour per month, totaling 12 per year. This education program can increase job satisfaction, improve registry data field compliance, and assist in data validation.
The education program inspires clinical and non-clinical trauma registry professionals to be more active in research, injury prevention, and performance improvement efforts. Topics include registry updates, mechanism, injury and procedure coding, comorbidity and complication review, and data field compliance. Our education program has proven to be beneficial for all members of our trauma program and this webinar will guide you through developing one for your center.
