Injury Prevention Webinar | Equity Across Injury Prevention
Providing equitable programs and care are key to supporting all pockets of our communities. Yet where do we start? And how do we combat our implicit biases that may hinder the work we are trying to accomplish? Join us as we look at two sides of the spectrum – external program implementation with an equitable lens and a new approach to implicit bias training for providers utilizing Forum Theater and Theater of the Oppressed Methodology. Britney Lombard’s initiatives on creating an equitable space and program for the child passenger safety programs offered through Children’s Hospital in Colorado has been widely successful. Michele Schombs is utilizing theater as an innovative way to educate providers on implicit bias in an interactive way that will increase dialogue and reduce defensiveness that is often seen with these trainings. Both panelist will have valuable takeaways to help you refocus your work with an equitable lens.
