A data hierarchy is an important trauma registry data quality tool that should be utilized by all trauma programs. During this informative session, the presenters will review what a data hierarchy is, the purpose and benefits of a data hierarchy, best practices, and provide examples for participants to implement and utilize at their centers.

Lyndsey Diehl is the Director of Trauma Registry at the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation. She earned a B.S. in Health Information Management from the Pennsylvania College of Technology in 2013, and shortly after completion degree, she earned her RHIA certification. Most recently Lyndsey obtained her Certified Specialist in Trauma Registries and Certified Health Data Analyst certifications. Lyndsey is also pursuing her master’s in health administration from Duquesne University.

Joni Krydick is the Lead Trauma Registrar at AHN Forbes Hospital. She earned her AAS in medical billing and coding and received her Certified Specialist in Trauma Registries certification in 2019.
Rachel Roy became a trauma registry professional in 2010 and has worked with dozens of hospitals across the country assisting with registry backlog, concurrent abstraction, training new staff and advising senior staff. She has assessed overall trauma program compliance, efficiency, and readiness for trauma center verification by the American College of Surgeons. She is presently employed with AMN Healthcare and works with Augusta University Medical Center in Augusta, GA, an ACS Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric center. Rachel holds CSTR, CAISS, and CPC certifications. Rachel also teaches Medical Coding and Billing for Salt Lake Community College in Salt Lake City, UT.
