Whether it is partnering with other trauma centers, departments within your own system or outside organizations such as public health, violence prevention organizations, law enforcement agencies, schools or churches, there are many opportunities to connect with others interested and involved in community injury prevention efforts to expand your reach. Learn how to connect with these different organizations and help your partnership flourish.
Presenters:
Jennifer Rubin recently joined UC Davis Health as an Injury Prevention Specialist at UC Davis Medical Center, an ACS Verified Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center serving inland Northern California. Her position includes senior fall prevention programming, and leading Safe Kids Greater Sacramento as Coalition Coordinator. Jennifer previously served as the Injury Prevention Program Lead at Dignity Health Mercy San Juan Medical Center for 10 years, and Public Education Officer for the Cosumnes Fire Department for 7 years.
Christa Green, MPH is the Injury Prevention Coordinator in the Department of Pediatric Trauma at MUSC Children’s Health in Charleston, South Carolina. Within this role, Ms. Green is also the coalition coordinator for Safe Kids Charleston Area, covering a three-county catchment area. To prevent injuries at the population level, Ms. Green emphasizes internal and external collaborative, multidisciplinary partnerships to create sustainable changes which benefit communities at greatest risk.
Kristi Ladowski, MPH, Injury Prevention & Outreach Coordinator, has over 10 years' experience coordinating health promotion programs. She lead efforts that earned the 2020 Safe States Injury Prevention Program of the Year Award. Ms. Ladowski is currently working on her PhD in Public Health with her research focused on older adult falls prevention program implementation and sustainability.
