Understanding and Measuring Over and Under Triage
Understanding and Measuring Over and Under Triage
The goal of properly triaging a patient is to ensure that the most critically injured have the highest level of trauma team activation and bring the right resources to the patient in a timely manner. This is measured by Injury Severity Score (retrospective) and level of hospital activation. The Cribari Matrix and the Need for Trauma Intervention (NFTI) are review tools which help measure triage decisions. This presentation will focus on assessment of compliance with your trauma center’s activation criteria and use of resources in your facility.
